Men and women both suffer from hair loss but have a lot of difference between them. Hair loss in men is mainly characterized by receding hairline, moderate to extensive hair loss, especially on the crown of head. On the other hand hair loss in women is characterized by general thinning of hair all over the head and moderate hair loss on the crown of the head.
Hair loss in women occurs at around 30 years of age and involves hair thinning rather than a bald patch. There are a number of causes behind it i.e.
Pregnancy: Hair loss is associated with pregnancy and occurs 3-6 months after delivering a child. Many women suffer hair loss due to the physiological impact of pregnancy on the body.
Unhealthy diet: Losing a lot of weight in a short period of time and unhealthy diet leads to hair loss.
Illnesses: Severe infection and illnesses results in stress forcing hair into resting phase.
Improper treatments: hair bleaching, dyes, straightening and tints.
Rough combing and brushing of the hair cause hair loss.
