Hair loss
is a common problem today and many people are suffering from it. The causes can be due to insufficient
nutrition as the body needs enough protein, vitamins and minerals to stop hair
loss and maintain hair growth. Iron
deficiency can also cause hair loss.
Chemicals treatments like hair color, bleaching, straightening and
perming damage the hair and also cause irritation to the scalp and damage hair
follicle which results in a condition called traction alopecia. Androgentic alopecia is another common cause
for hair loss and is caused due to hormonal changes, genetics and also in
people who take steroids. Some health
conditions like diabetes or thyroid and intake of certain medications can also lead
to hair loss. Temporary hair loss can
occur during pregnancy, childbirth and surgery.
To maintain healthy hair have a diet rich with iron and
minerals and be relaxed and do not stress.
Do not use very hot or very cold water while washing your hair, use a
mild shampoo and avoid direct sunlight by keeping your head covered while going
out. Avoid blow drying your hair and
treat your split ends by trimming it once in two-three months. Drink plenty of water and avoid fatty and
fried foods.
